This bizarre book says precious little about financial
technology—and what it does say on the topic is fragmented. The book is
chock full of historical anecdotes and trivia, only some of which
relates to finance. Topics include Napoleon's telegraph system, the
founding of the Monte Carlo Casino, the invention of cubic spline
interpolation and Babylonian interest rate calculations. The book is
entertaining to browse but of little practical value ...
