For anyone new to
the treasury function within corporations, this is a handy introduction. It
delves into the purpose of treasury and explains how treasury fits into the
corporation overall. There are chapters on cash management, liquidity
management, interest rate risk, foreign exchange and risk management.
The book
is non-technical and focuses on giving a high-level overview. Functions are
discussed without getting into detail. For example, you will learn about the
purpose of gap analysis without learning exactly what it is or seeing even a
sample gap report. I guarantee that any reader will be frustrated by the book's
vague lack of detail. However, as a quick read and a high-level snapshot of the
treasury function, I think the book has much to offer.
