Lhabitant has written other books on hedge funds. This
is his most ambitious, offering an in-depth look at hedge
funds—history, legal structures, investment approaches, performance
measurement, hedge fund indexes, etc. The writing is scholarly and
insightful. The book's flaw lies not in what it contains but in what it
leaves out. The issues the author skips or glosses over are
what would make you decide to not invest in hedge funds. For what it
offers, the book is excellent, but consider it marketing packaged as
scholarship ...
